Viveksandeep Thoguluva Chandrasekar, MD, earned his medical degree from Madras Medical College in Chennai, India. Upon graduation, he completed his Internal Medicine residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, New York, and Gastroenterology & Hepatology fellowship at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He went on to pursue additional fellowship training in Interventional and Therapeutic Endoscopy at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona. He joined the faculty at Medical College of Georgia in 2021 as Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, where he is currently the Director of Advanced Endoscopy and the Associate Program Director for the GI fellowship. His clinical interests include Diagnostic Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), Interventional Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), Pancreato-biliary disorders, Large colon polyp resection, Colorectal cancer screening and surveillance, Luminal stenting, Gastroesophageal reflux disease, and Gastrointestinal bleeding. Research interests include: Therapeutic endoscopy, Pancreato-biliary disorders, Colorectal cancer surveillance, Quality Improvement, Outcomes Research, and Artificial intelligence.
