Robert Wong, MD, MS, FACG, is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine (Affiliated) in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Stanford University School of Medicine, and staff physician in the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Section at Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Healthcare System. He completed gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at Stanford University School of Medicine, where he also completed a Master's in Epidemiology and Clinical Research. His clinical interests include management of patients with complex liver diseases, including viral hepatitis, hepatocellular carcinoma, and steatotic liver disease. His research focuses on epidemiology, outcomes, and health services research in patients with chronic liver diseases, with a particular focus on healthcare disparities among under-served, vulnerable, and ethnic minority populations. His research has been funded by the NIH, the AASLD, the ACG, and others. His work has been published in high impact journals including, JAMA, Hepatology, Gastroenterology, Journal of Hepatology, Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and American Journal of Gastroenterology. He serves on the editorial board of Hepatology and Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology, and he serves as Chair of the GRADE methodology team for the ACG Practice Parameters Committee.
