John O. Clarke, MD, FACG, is Director of the Esophageal Program, Vice-Chief of Education, and a Clinical Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Stanford University. He moved to Stanford from Johns Hopkins University in 2016, where he had been the Clinical Director of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and the Clinical Director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Neurogastroenterology and GI Motility. He completed medical school at Columbia University, residency and fellowship at Johns Hopkins University, and advanced esophageal motility training at Northwestern University.
