Marina Kim, DO, is a gastroenterologist who specializes in advanced endoscopy with a special interest in detecting and treating early GI cancers. After completing fellowship training in interventional endoscopy and being in practice for a couple of years, she traveled to Japan to master endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) and magnifying endoscopy -- cutting-edge techniques for early cancer detection and removal. Dr. Kim performs the full range of advanced endoscopic procedures (ERCP, EUS, POEM, ESD, EMR) but her focus is early GI malignancies -- finding them before they spread and removing them endoscopically when possible. Her research centers on improving early detection methods and refining minimally invasive treatments that optimize patient outcomes.
