Stimulating gut-brain communication1

As a clinician, you understand constipation may be caused by an abnormally functioning colon. When a patient begins using the Vibrant Treatment System, its vibrating capsule sends micro-vibrations through the colon to signal the body to move contents through, as it normally would, and put the colon back in sync.

Through this process, the body’s natural biorhythm is reset by exciting the mechanical receptors within the colon wall. Many refer to it as the gut-brain axis. This treatment is highly effective in creating a peristaltic outcome that contracts and helps push out the contents of the colon.


How Vibrant works

The Vibrant Treatment System includes bioelectronic, ingestible capsules. The system consists of a programming module and single-use capsules that are the size and shape of a fish oil pill. Prior to ingestion, the patient inserts a capsule in the pod to be programmed. This programs the capsule to transit to the stomach and small intestine. Fourteen hours later, when it reaches the colon, it releases a series of vibrations against the colon wall, repeating two hours on and two hours off, and two hours on — until it is expelled.
