Douglas K. Rex, MD, MACG, is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus at Indiana University School of Medicine and a full-time clinical gastroenterologist at Indiana University Hospitals. His major research interests are colorectal disease, particularly colorectal cancer screening, and the technical performance of colonoscopy. He has authored more than 300 original research papers, 70 book chapters, 230 invited papers, 75 editorials, and 40 guideline papers. He chaired the U.S. Multi-Society Task Force on Colorectal Cancer from 2000-2006 and 2012-2018. He is a past President of the ACG and of the ASGE.
