Managing Partner
Wichita Falls Gastroenterology Associates
Wichita Falls, TX
Louis Wilson, MD, FACG, is an independent private practice physician devoted to his patients, his small North Texas community, his colleagues, and his profession for over 25 years. His energies are diligently applied to being an innovative leader, entrepreneur, and inventor. One of his related efforts was to invent, test, and patent novel devices to rapidly assess obstructive physiology in the airway. As the medical director of Digestive Health Research of North Texas, LLC., Dr. Wilson is active in clinical research as a principal investigator for several pharmaceutical and biomarker trials. He has also produced films and designed, built, and managed the water theme park (Castaway Cove) in his town. Advocacy for our profession is important to him, as is the study of healthcare operations, economics, leadership, and policy. His work with the ACG included 5 years as co-chair or chair of the Practice Management Committee and two years on the ACG COVID “Resuming Endoscopy” Task Force. Dr. Wilson headed the creation of the popular “Practice Management Toolbox”, featuring high-impact articles on the ACG website to help physicians thrive in their practices. Serving as president of the Texas Society of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy from 2020 to 2022 was a great honor for him. Leading in both of those organizations during the COVID pandemic was a very rewarding challenge. In 2018, he received the ACG “Community Service Award” for disaster relief efforts in the U.S. and around the world. Currently, Dr. Wilson is Chair of the ACG Legislative and Public Policy Council, which directs legislative policy for the ACG in Washington, DC and communicates updates to the College’s more than 18,000 members.
