Asmeen Bhatt, MD, PhD, FACG, received her medical degree at the University of Mumbai, India and a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology at Kent State University, OH. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Canton Medical Education Foundation, Canton, OH, and a fellowship in Gastroenterology from University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), Galveston, TX. Dr. Bhatt then worked for several years in the Department of Gastroenterology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UT Houston), McGovern Medical School where she was Associate Professor. Currently, she practices at the prestigious Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, Houston, TX. She is board certified in Gastroenterology and provides comprehensive care for gastrointestinal and liver diseases and performs GI procedures. Dr. Bhatt has an interest in obesity and bariatric endoscopy, and is board certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine. Dr. Bhatt has served as a principal investigator on multiple quality improvement studies, and has studied the gender differences in endoscopy ergonomics. Dr. Bhatt has served on the governing board of the Association of Bariatric Endoscopy (ABE). She has served in various roles within the ACG, and is currently a member of the ACG Educational Affairs Committee. She was the Quality Director for the Division of Gastroenterology and Associate Quality Director for the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Houston. Dr. Bhatt has presented her research in national and international meetings and is published both in basic science and clinical research. During her basic science graduate training, Dr. Bhatt was funded for her research by the American Liver Foundation and the American Heart Association. She has published her work in well renowned scientific journals. Dr. Bhatt enjoys spending quality time with her family and has a passion for travel.
