Vonda Reeves, MD, MBA, FACG, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Millsaps College and went on to pursue a medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. She completed both her internship and residency in Internal Medicine and her fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She is board certified in Gastroenterology. In addition to working at GI Alliance. She is a trustee of the American College of Gastroenterology. Her passion is patient care and medica missions. She is a devote community activist, serving as Vice-Chair of Jackson Redevelopement Authority, having assisted in acquisition of over $22 million dollars in municipal renovation and renewal from local, state, and federal sources. She is Vice President of Boy Scouts of America for Central Mississippi. She has extensive research experience, and has received numerous faculty appointments including the Association of Black Women Physicians, the American Women's Medical Association, and the AGA. She has done extensive research in motility disorders and HIV-related conditions of the gut. She was awarded the Women in Medicine Leadership Award for Central Mississippi in 2024. She is a fierce advocate for patient rights, fair pricing for medications, equal access to care, and insurance for all.
