Dr. Olaya Brewer Gutierrez is a therapeutic endoscopist and motility specialist. She completed her internal medicine and gastroenterology training at the Central University of Venezuela . She then did therapeutic endoscopy and motility training at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine . She is the Clinical Director for the DIvision of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and Endoscopy Director at Johns Hopkins Sibley Memorial Hospital and the Director of the Johns Hopkins Heartburn Center. She also is the GI Section Chief in the Department of Medicine at Sibley Memorial Hospital. Dr. Brewer Gutierrez is the chair of the ASGE LATAM interest group and serves in the ASGE member engagement committee as well as in AFS (American Foregut Society) practice committee.
