Dayna Early, MD, FACG, is a Professor of Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology at Washington University in St. Louis. She is also the Director of Endoscopy at Barnes Jewish Hospital. Dr. Early is a Fellow of the ACG and the ASGE, a past Chair of the ACG Board of Governors, and a current member of the ACG Board of Trustees. She is the co-editor of the Red Section of The American Journal of Gastroenterology and has co-directed the ACG/ASGE Best Practices Course as well as co-directed and spoken at ACG regional courses. In 2024, she received the ASGE Endoscopic Research Mentoring Award. Dr. Early completed her internal medicine residency and GI fellowship at Vanderbilt University. She then joined the faculty at the University of Missouri where she developed a GI practice at Ellis Fischel Cancer Center, before joining the faculty at Washington University in St. Louis in 2001. Her clinical and research interests are colorectal cancer screening, endoscopic education, Barrett's esophagus treatment, and pancreatic cancer screening. She has authored numerous abstracts and peer-reviewed manuscripts, and has mentored numerous GI and advanced endoscopy fellows.
