Brian C. Jacobson, MD, MPH, FACG, is the Director of Program Development for the Gastroenterology Division of Massachusetts General Hospital. In this role, he directs network development, division-wide efforts in strategic planning, clinical and research program growth, and integration across subspecialties. Dr. Jacobson has leadership experience in gastroenterology and advanced endoscopic techniques, accountable care, quality improvement, and clinical research. Dr. Jacobson also helped develop numerous national standards of practice, guidelines, and quality metrics for gastroenterologists. Dr. Jacobson has an international reputation for conducting innovative and clinically-meaningful research, much of which was sponsored by the National Institutes of Health. He has also served in leadership roles within several gastroenterological organizations and has received many awards for teaching, mentoring, quality improvement, and clinical care excellence. He is currently serving on the US Multi-society Task Force on Colorectal Cancer and is the Editor-in-Chief of Clinical and Translational Gastroenterology.
