Yana Cavanagh, MD, is the Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology and Director of Interventional Endoscopy at St. Joseph’s Health. She is the Program Director of the Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at both Hackensack University School of Medicine and Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Yana Cavanagh is triple board certified in Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine. Dr. Cavanagh’s clinical expertise includes the management of gastrointestinal cancers and conditions requiring complex endoscopic interdisciplinary management. She has performed thousands of advanced procedures and distinguished herself amongst a small group of innovators, who provide high quality care by performing endoscopic surgical procedures. Dr. Cavanagh has particular interest in minimally invasive procedures of the gastrointestinal tract, including “third-space” endoscopy such as endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), per oral endoscopic myotomy (POEM), anti-reflux procedures, full thickness resection (FTR) and endoscopic weight loss management. Her dedication to patient care and extensive experience in treating benign and malignant conditions of the gastrointestinal tract have made Dr. Cavanagh a trusted physician amongst her colleagues and within her community. Dr. Cavanagh is active in clinic research of novel endoscopic procedures as well as devices and publishes extensively in peer-reviewed journals. She presents her research at national and international scientific meetings and gives frequent educational seminars throughout the GI community about the latest innovations in endoscopy. She has been appointed to the Quality Assurance in Endoscopy Committee by the governance board of the ASGE, and maintains active membership in the ACG, AGA, ASGE, the New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American Foregut Society, and Women in Endoscopy,
