Ali Rezaie, MD, MSc, is the medical director of the GI motility program at Cedars-Sinai, Los Angeles, and an associate professor at Cedars-Sinai and an associate clinical professor at UCLA. Rezaie also serves as the Director of Bioinformatics and Biotechnology at Medically Associated Science and Technology (MAST) program at Cedars-Sinai. Apart from his training in gastroenterology, he has postdoctoral training in gastrointestinal motility disorders and also inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) along with a Master’s degree in epidemiology. Dr. Rezaie has published more than 200 peer-reviewed papers that have been cited over 11,000 times. He holds several patents, and his inventions have been recognized by multiple organizations, including TIME magazine’s “Best Inventions of 2025.”. He also serves as the associate editor of Digestive Diseases and Sciences. His research focuses on microbiome, IBS, SIBO, IMO, medical device development and internal UV therapy.
